Client: Compuware Corporation
Industry: IT products and services
Challenge: To improve employees’ ability to find important training information on the corporate intranet
Blue Sun Works’ Solution: Blue Sun Works interviewed Compuware training managers to understand their goals related to sharing training information with Compuware employees. Blue Sun Works also interviewed employees in Michigan and Ohio to better understand their training information needs and how they would expect to find that information. Blue Sun Works then proposed a new way to organize and present training information on the Compuware intranet so that both stakeholders and end-users were satisfied.
Client: Kelly Services, Inc.
Industry: Staffing
Challenge: To identify employees’ highest priority intranet information needs and redesign the corporate intranet accordingly
Blue Sun Works’ Solution: Blue Sun Works conducted telephone-based interviews with employees across the country to better understand their intranet information needs. Blue Sun Works then proposed a new intranet information architecture and several web site prototypes that became the basis of Kelly Services' current, successful, intranet organization and design.
Client: ProQuest Information & Learning
Industry: Information Services
Challenge: To reduce the complexity of the ProQuest Information & Learning web site and make information easier to find
Blue Sun Works’ Solution: Blue Sun Works conducted telephone and in-person interviews with key users of the ProQuest Information & Learning web site to determine their primary goals relative to the site, and learn how well the current site was meeting their needs. Armed with this information, Blue Sun Works proposed a new, more task-oriented information architecture, a simplified user interface, and the consolidation of some information to reduce the number of clicks required to get to it. These recommendations were incorporated into a subsequent redesign of the site.
